Community meals offered September- May on Mondays and Tuesdays at 12:00 p.m. and June-August Mondays and Thursdays at 12:00 p.m. Suggested donation of $2.00 for individuals age 60+. Individuals under 60 years of age are welcome at a cost of $7.00 per meal. Reservations are required by 9:00 a.m. the same day. No walk-ins permitted. Enjoy a Kosher hot lunch, companionship and educational programming each week at our congregational meals site located at Congregation Knesset Israel, 16 Colt Rd in Pittsfield.
For over 30 years, the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires has operated the Berkshire Older Adult Kosher Lunch Program in Pittsfield, MA. The program served 200 seniors in 2014. Meals served are available to all seniors regardless of religious affiliation. The Kosher Meals program is made possible through a collaboration with Elder Services of Berkshire County.
The Jewish Federation of the Berkshires cares for those in need and nurtures and sustains Jewish community across the Berkshires and around the world. As a resource and contact point for Jews throughout the Berkshires and its environs, we mobilize, advocate and educate as we seek to create a vibrant Jewish community where all who desire Jewish interaction are welcomed.
Volunteers are needed to help pack meals for Meals on Wheels, setting tables and taking reservations. Please contact Cindy Bell-Dean at 413-442-2200. Hours of operation are daily from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
