Morningside Community School Garden : Pittsfield Community Garden Programs

100 Burbank Street Pittsfield MA

Julia Lemieux 413-841-4416

The city of Pittsfield supports garden programs at three community and two school gardens in Pittsfield.  The city gardener helps to facilitate community use of the gardens as well as providing maintenance and educational programming to various low income and at risk populations. Each garden is unique and hosts its own set of educators, volunteers and students. The community garden project is a program of the Berkshire Community Action Council through partnership with the City of Pittsfield.

The Morningside Community School is another educational garden site inside the Morningside neighborhood.  This site consists of three raised beds surrounding the school’s outdoor classroom.  At this site,  the Morningside Kid’s club meets weekly to learn about gardening and healthy eating.

All participants can garden for fresh produce. Volunteers are needed May-October to help with planting, weeding, harvesting and other garden tasks. Please call for more information.
